Lawton Public Schools is making it easier and more convenient for families to enroll their student with the new Online Registration (OLR) process. OLR is an additional feature of the district’s student information system Infinite Campus providing parents the opportunity to electronically register.
The project began June 2016 and was headed by Kim Elam, Student Data Administrator for Lawton Public Schools, Mark Mattingly, Executive Director of Douglass Learning Center for Lawton Public Schools and David Erwin, Data Center Director for Lawton Public Schools.
“Over the last few years there has been a steady increase in questions regarding applying online,” said Elam. “It will be great for families moving into the community or returning to LPS after a lapse in enrollment.”
The registration process simply entails parents filling out the online application. As for the required documentation needed to complete the process, “parents will take the birth certificate, shot record and proof of residency to the August ‘Check-In’ at their child’s school,” said Elam.
A confirmation email will be sent upon completion of registration and then an additional email with further instructions once it is processed.
Families will only need to visit Student Services at Douglass Learning Center, 102 E. Gore Blvd., if there is a change in custodial guardianship.
Those looking to enroll a Pre-K student, who have not already pre-registered in May, must contact Student Services. Families new to LPS may begin their registration process via http://www.lawtonps.org/registration.
Student Services will have computers available for parents to use for registration purposes. For details regarding registration requirements, parents may visit the LPS home website or call Student Services at 580-353-0171.
