Freedom Elementary
Talent Show 2024
March 14, 2024, 9:45 AM & 1:30 PM
What? Freedom Elementary’s Ninth Talent Show
When? Thursday, March 14th
Who? Interested students in grades PreK-5
Why? To have a chance at being one of the acts in our talent show this year. There are no fees and no prizes, but we are limited by time, so not everyone that auditions will make the show!
Where? Freedom Elementary, Blue Gym (location for auditions and the show) and by virtual link. A link to view will be sent out by your classroom teacher. Parents are welcome to come to their child’s show.
How? Fill out and return your signed permission slip by Tuesday, February 20th, and prepare for your audition as indicated below:
- Music, movements, attire, and behavior must follow school handbook guidelines.
- Provide your own school appropriate costumes and props if desired, for auditions and, if selected, the performance. (If you don’t wear a costume to auditions, any costume you wish to wear for the show must be pre- approved. We will provide a gymnastics mat or piano if needed. No live animals, please!)
- Provide your own music for your act. Vocalists will need an instrumental (or karaoke track without vocals) of their song, or may sing acapella (without accompaniment). Music is not required for any act, but will definitely help with showmanship. For auditions and your convenience, you may email Ms. Owens at sowens@lawtonps.org and provide a link to your song on YouTube. Please make sure you email your song to Ms. Owens by February20th.
- Students are allowed to be in only one act and only with members of their grade level.
- Groups are limited to four students. All students must attend Freedom.
- Acts are limited to 3 1/2 minutes.
- Acts that are chosen to perform cannot be changed in any way from the audition, except at the discretion of the directors or administration.
- Be ready to perform at auditions beginning February 26th, although you may be called later in the week up until February 28th.
Please begin to plan and practice now so you will be at your best. Some examples of talents we’d love to see are listed below:
